Toledo Geophysical Observatory, a traditional institution in the world of geophysics with more than a century of history, is now undertaking the job of recover the geophysical documentation produced in all of IGN Spain observatories throughout their history, as well as geophysical instrumentation used on them. At the Geophysical Data National Archive, located inside Toledo Observatory, is now concentrated all the geomagnetic and seismic documentation that are being catalogued and stored with the appropriate conditions for their preservation. Besides, the most valuable part of this documentation are currently being digitized in order to obtain a backup of them and to attend the data request received at this Archive. About geomagnetism, the set of data includes analogical magnetograms and absolute measurements from Toledo, Almería, Logroño, and Tenerife Geomagnetic Observatories. In addition, the Observatory Workshop is now dedicated to the task of restore the historical geophysical instrumentation, being more than 60 the instruments that have been restored and displayed in the exhibition rooms of the Observatory. From this collection, 25 of the historical instruments are about Geomagnetism, and the rest of them are about Seismology, Geoelectricity and Meteorology. |
