SWAP: The Austrian Platform for Space Weather

Space weather is a general term for phenomena in the solar system that originate at the Sun and can have an impact on Earth and our technological infrastructure. Space weather is continually influencing our planet and its magnetic field. The best known and visible effects of space weather are auroras.

What is space weather?

Research into space weather events has picked up in the past 30 years. The visibility of the topic space weather, the development of application-oriented space weather scenarios and forecasts as well as the well-founded presentation of the contents and the establishment of sustainable collaborations and cooperation opportunities are the core objectives of this project.
