Following the successful calibration of the JUICE magnetometers in 2022, another measurement campaign has now been conducted within the coil system. This time, the magnetic field sensors for the ESA mission Comet Interceptor were successfully calibrated. Thanks to the excellent magnetic measurement conditions on-site, scientists from Austria, Poland, and Germany were able to establish the foundation for precise data acquisition in space. The mission, which will use three spacecraft to study a pristine comet from multiple perspectives, aims to provide fundamental insights into the origin of our solar system. This successful calibration marks a crucial milestone for the future success of this research journey, with the launch scheduled for 2029.
